GSO Conformity Tracking Symbol is Now Effective

GSO Conformity Tracking Symbol (GCTS) Effective from January 2017

Pursuant to the Certification Tracking System announced by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) in June 2016, with effect from 1 January 2017, all toys subject to the Notified Bodies procedure shall bear the GSO Conformity Tracking Symbol (GCTS).  See figure 1.1 below:

 The GCTS shall be registered via a Notified Body who will then issue a Certificate with the corresponding GCTS. The manufacturer, his authorized representative, or the importer shall affix the GCTS to the product, meeting the minimum dimensions as stated in figure 1.2 below:

Where it is not possible to affix the GCTS on the product due to the nature of the product, it shall be affixed to the packaging and the accompanying documents such as the user manual.  The GCTS shall be easily visible, readable and permanent, and shall be readable by a scanner of reader application of a smartphone.
