What are LCA and PCF?

LCA stands for Life Cycle Assessment, which is a method for looking holistically at the environmental impacts of products or services from cradle top grave. Properly done, the outcome of a life cycle assessment is a science-based measure of environmental performance.
PCF is knew as Product Carbon Footprint, which is the total amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with a product (or service or business or organization), along its entire life cycle or a given time frame. It is often expressed and measured in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2).

As we know Carbon Footprint is a subset of complete Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

An LCA / PCF requires:

• Identify the project scope and define the boundary;
• Build the process map;
• Collect inventory data of resource use, energy consumption and relevant emissions at each step of the life cycle for specific product;
• Make environmental impact analysis and calculate the carbon footprint;
• Interpret the outcome of data (a number of quantitative indicators for product)
