Feather and Down Testing

Intertek offers special feather and down testing for quantitative analysis, filling power, turbidity, thermal properties, migration, and penetration resistance.

Down, the undercoating of waterfowl, and feathers, the outer coating of fowl, are often used in both apparel and soft home textile products such as pillows. Products containing down and feathers must be accurately labeled and advertised. The actual amounts of down and feathers must not be misrepresented. It is especially important that apparel labels declare the down content accurately.  We offer:
