Recognising the pet product testing team’s thought leadership

We are proud to share that William Wong and Raymond Poon, Assistant General Managers of Toys & Hardlines at Intertek Hong Kong, have been appointed as committee members of ISO/TC 355 (Pet Products).

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) brings together global experts from across industries to anticipate market challenges and develop standards that ensure a safe, level playing field worldwide. The appointment of William and Raymond highlights Intertek’s thought leadership and technical excellence in this rapidly expanding sector.

To support the booming pet market, Intertek Hong Kong established a dedicated Pet Product Testing Centre in 2022. Our technical team is deeply committed to ensuring product safety and performance through scientific innovation, testing everything from pet toys and apparel to daily necessities.

Under the leadership of William and Raymond, the team has developed cutting-edge testing methodologies and bespoke equipment. Notably, three specialized pieces of equipment; the Bite Resistance & Shaking Tester, the Bite & Tear Endurance Tester, and the Scratch Resistance Tester, have been granted patents, underscoring Intertek's profound impact on shaping industry benchmarks.
