Advancing import-export success through quality, safety and sustainability

At the 139th China Import and Export Fair, Canton Fair, in Guangzhou, Intertek China showcased its comprehensive Total Quality Assurance solutions, demonstrating how manufacturers and global buyers can confidently meet today’s increasingly demanding quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.

As one of the world’s largest and longest-running international trade events, the Canton Fair attracted nearly 200,000 attendees and over 30,000 exhibitors. The fair serves as a vital platform for Chinese manufacturers and international buyers to forge partnerships, exchange insights, and showcase innovations to the global market.

This edition centred on the themes “Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Home Life, and Better Life” for three major phases. Key focus areas included Smart Mobility, Industrial Automation, Furniture, Fashions, Intelligent Healthcare Housewares and Gifts & Decorations, with focus on sustainability.

Over the 15-day event, Intertek China’s experts actively engaged with industry leaders, buyers, and manufacturers. Visitors showed strong interest in our forward-looking solutions, particularly AI-powered quality assurance, sustainability certifications, ESG compliance, and testing and certification for emerging innovations including robots, drones, advanced batteries, and smart household products.

Joan Li, Vice President of ETL, Greater China, led the team to demonstrate our timely solutions during phase 1 and shared her insights:

“You would definitely be impressed by how the latest technologies are transforming our world if you attended the show this year. People here were talking about “Go Global”. Beyond serving local demand, manufacturers are now focused on bringing high-quality, compliant products to global markets. We are impressed that our timely solutions, including Intertek AI2 and SupplyTek, are exactly what they need right now, especially in driving market diversification.”

Rachel Guo, Vice President of China Hardlines, shared her observations:

“During phase 2, Buyers weren’t just focused on design, they were asking detailed questions about material safety, chemical compliance, and environmental credentials directly at the booths. Companies that came prepared with the right certifications were able to close deals faster. We’re delighted to exchange ideas face-to-face on how our testing facilities and expertise can help streamline sourcing in today’s complex regulatory landscape.”

Lin Lin, General Manager of Softlines, South China, highlighted the critical need for market access:

“Phase 3 reinforced that in addition to design and cost, manufacturers who can clearly communicate compliance, verified performance and sustainable materials to the market win the most trust from international buyers. At Intertek, our trusted third-party testing and certification solutions help build buyer confidence and speed up market entry.”
