Joyous and fun learning with children
Recently, Intertek Greater China successfully hosted a series of Family Day events across its Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Xiamen sites, bringing together colleagues and their families for joyful and engaging activities.
Guangzhou: Run with Children
In Guangzhou, 34 families, 80 participants, engaged in the “Run with Children” charity event, contributing their running steps to support a public welfare programme focused on improving eye health for elderly residents in rural areas. Through interactive games, participants earned stationery gift boxes for donation to local welfare organisations. As families explored the forest park, children learned about various tree species, enriching their ecological knowledge and strengthening environmental awareness.
Xiamen: Park Clean Up Activity
In Xiamen, 12 families took part in a park clean up activity, becoming “Environmental Guardians” in Zhongshan Park. Participants promoted a “No Littering” message to visitors, demonstrating our commitment to the environmental through meaningful community action.
Dongguan: “Little Quality Guardians” Workshop
In Dongguan, 20 families joined the “Little Quality Guardians” workshop, where children took part in hands on product inspection activities for items such as stationery and toy cars. Through engaging classes and interactive games, young participants learned the fundamentals of quality and safety, reflecting our commitment to rigorous standards while nurturing early awareness of quality management in a lively, family focused environment.
Shenzhen: “Future Detection Tube Challenge” Programme
In Shenzhen, 47 families participated in the “Future Detection Tube Challenge,” a programme built around four themes: safety inspection, chemical experiments, low carbon environmental protection, and helmet safety. Children learned to identify product hazards and complete basic inspection reports, conducted hands on chemistry experiments during a science magic show, and calculated carbon emissions using coefficient cards to deepen their understanding of environmental impact. A guided visit to the helmet laboratory further allowed participants to see how quality testing supports safe travel. The event emphasised experiential learning, effectively sparking children’s curiosity and strengthening awareness of safety, science, and environmental protection.
Grace Li, VP HR, Greater China & Global Softlines and Hardlines, said:
“These activities highlight our core principles - commitment to quality, community support, and inspiring future generations. Each event allowed families to connect and engage in meaningful ways. By joining forces, we are nurturing future leaders who will contribute positively to society.”
Sandeep Das, CEO Greater China & President Global Softlines and Hardlines, said:
“We believe that our people and their families are at the heart of everything we do. This year’s Family Activities across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Xiamen reflect the spirit of learning, caring, and responsibility that defines our culture. Whether running for charity, protecting our parks, exploring quality and safety, or discovering the wonders of science, our colleagues and their children demonstrated the values we are proud to stand for. These moments of joy, curiosity, and community action remind us that building a better, safer, and more sustainable future begins with the next generation -and with every family that is part of the Intertek community.”
Family activities underscore Intertek’s belief that true quality extends beyond laboratories and client projects - it thrives in the connections we build, the communities we support, and the future leaders we empower.
