23 Feb 2026
Strengthening local support for Hangzhou Bay’s growing home appliance industry with quality excellence
We are pleased to announce the grand opening of our newly relocated and upgraded Cixi Branch in Zhejiang Province, led by Joan Li, Vice President of Greater China ETL.
Joan opened the event with a warm welcome, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and a comprehensive laboratory tour showcasing the new facilities. More than 50 distinguished clients and business partners attended, including key representatives from leading organisations such as AUX, Singfun, and Cuori, fostering an atmosphere of cooperation and advancement.
Cixi, a key manufacturing hub in the Hangzhou Bay area, is home to thousands of factories and produces approximately 60% of the world’s small home appliances, particularly in categories such as electric, electrothermal, and combined household appliances. This strategic relocation and facility upgrade enables us to deliver faster and more precise testing and certification services directly to this dynamic cluster, supporting the high-quality development of home appliance manufacturers in the Yangtze River Delta, as they scale production and expand into global markets.
Joan commented:
“As the first international third-party testing and certification organisation entering China, Intertek has supported the country’s manufacturing sector for over three decades. The relocation and upgrade of our Cixi Branch represent a key milestone, equipping us even better to meet our clients’ evolving needs with precision, pace and passion.”
Sandeep Das, CEO Greater China and President Global Softlines and Hardlines, said:
“This upgrade leverages our robust project management capabilities, technical resources, and strong connections with local development teams. Combined with our deep expertise in energy efficiency and key market access requirements across Europe and the U.S., as well as the new capabilities enabled through Intertek AI², this enhanced facility reinforces our commitment to helping enterprises expand their product reach while prioritizing quality, safety, and sustainability.”
