The Gulf region has experienced significant economic growth in the past
decades and more businesses are exporting products into the region. The G
Marking signifies the conformity of products to the pre-defined requirements of
health, safety and environmental standards.

The G Marking for low voltage electrical products is regulated in the Gulf Technical Regulation (BD-142004-01), which mainly focuses on household appliances with a voltage rating of 50-1000V AC or 75-1500V DC concerning of general safety and EMC safety of the products. The enforcement of this new regulation is set to begin with a pilot scheme from 1 June 2015, with full enforcement from 1 July 2016. All low-voltage electrical products being brought onto and available in the GCC marketplace after 1 July 2016 must have the G Marking.
