Attainment of full scope of G-Marking accreditation for Toys and Electrical Products
Intertek Hong Kong has recently been accredited by the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) Accreditation Centre (GAC) as a Notified Body to issue Gulf Region Mark (G-Marking) certifications for all low voltage electrical equipment and appliances falling under the G-Marking regulations exporting to its seven member countries* in the Gulf Region.
Coupled with Intertek Hong Kong’s earlier accredited status for toys testing in the Gulf Markets, it offers world-leading one-stop testing and certification solution for toys and electrical products that fall under G-Marking regulations, facilitating customers’ product entry into the Gulf markets.
On Dec 4, 2015, His Excellency, Nabil bin Ameen Molla, Director-General of GAC and Secretary-General of Standardization Organization for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GSO) presented the certificate to Ms. Christina Law, Chief Executive of North East Asia, Intertek, during the Accreditation Award Ceremony held at the office of Intertek Hong Kong. This is the second accreditation from GSO after the company was appointed a Notified Body for toys testing in January this year.
“As the Center of New Technology and Knowledge, we have led the market in pioneering new services in both Toys and Electrical domains. By leveraging our strong technical know-hows across domains, Intertek Hong Kong is proud to be the leader in providing Gulf Markets solution,” said Christina Law.
“We believe that the things we do could help make the world a better and safer place, and we are happy to be the forerunner. We look forward to a stronger collaboration with GCC in the future, and become an important key player in shaping the regulatory framework for the Gulf Markets,” Law added.
The Gulf region has experienced significant economic growth in the past decades and more businesses are exporting products into the region. The G Marking signifies the conformity of products to the pre-defined requirements of health, safety and environmental standards.
