Softlines Regulatory Update: Taiwan - Proposed to Amend Mandatory Inspection for Children’s Raincoats

​The Taiwan Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) proposed to amend mandatory inspection requirements for children’s raincoats under BSMI Notice No.10720006420.
 
The major amendment of this proposed notice is to adopt the most recent version of standard CNS 15503 “General requirements for safety of children’s products.” published on 18 Oct 2018. In this revised version, among all the changes, DMP and DEP are deleted from the restricted phthalates, which reduced the number of restricted phthalates from 8 to 6 (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DNOP) and the sum of the total mixture of them cannot be over 0.1% (wt/wt).
